I choose this book for my son, not having a male role model I worry if I'm giving him the right tool to become a man. I find to many are still boys in today's society. I found the I formation very helpful and wish I had read it before I choose who would be his father. Thank you for your endless work, I hope all families would take the time to read it.

Thought provoking

Excellent read. The importance of training your body is one that everyone is familiar with. However, to live with excellence one must also train the mind. The path of our lives is led first by our thoughts. A great reminder that to maintain proper emotional balance which results in a higher quality of life, you must first look at self and your internal dialog. Constantly capturing every thought and filtering it through the proper spiritual perspective.
I enjoyed it immensely.

This is a great book that talks about how to make real men - men who don't have any crazy ideas about their "feminine side" or how they should be apologetic for the way they were born. Chuck has hit the nail on the head and this is a book that everyone should read - those with boys or those who know boys!

Wonder Woman's Sacrifice

Just read through a whole bunch of people moaning and groaning about how Superman got humiliated and taken down by a "second tier" superhero Wonder Woman in this collection, hence the "sacrifice" of Superman's iconic status in the DC Universe. They obviously did not understand the story, or possibly chose to interpret it in their own narrow viewpoints. The "Sacrifice" of the title actually refers to the impossible choice that Wonder Woman had to make. A mind-controlled Superman runs rampant and nearly pounds the Batman to death. Faced with either killing Superman to stop his rampage, letting Superman kill the Batman, herself, and possibly other people if she fails, or killing the man responsible for Superman's rampage (killing an ordinary mortal is a line she has apparently never crossed even though she has killed hordes of monsters, demons and even ancient Greek Gods before) she chooses the third option, thus sacrificing forever her reputation as an ambassador for peace (the mission the Amazons sent her out into the world to fulfil). The battle is being broadcast to the world by the man responsible (to break the trust of the adoring public for the superheroes) and the world watches in horror as she executes a seemingly helpless mortal. She sacrifices her mission, her own reputation, and forever tarnishes the image of superheroes by breaking the neck of a mortal in full view of the world. Also, Wonder Woman is no second-tier superhero - she is one of the most recognisable comic book characters of all time - and she has long been shown to be a far more formidable warrior than Superman, lacking perhaps only Superman's brute strength - she has been shown to lift entire islands, for goodness sake, people. All in all, this is one of the best Wonder Woman arcs ever written.

Mostly good, some bad...overall...recommended (spoilers)

Adventures of Superman (written by Greg Rucka and art by Karl Kerschl, Morales et al.)

Action Comics #829 (written by Gail Simone and art by John Byrne)

Wonder Woman #219-220 (written by Rucka, art by Morales, Johnson et al.)

This is the collection that is an extension of the OMAC Project. It takes place when Superman is min-controlled by Max Lord and attacks several members of the JLA obviously including Wonder Woman. The story overall is written very well, especially the portions written by Rucka. He really delves into the Superman character and knows what makes him tick. He also captures the relations between the big 3 JLA members very well. Yes, they are colleagues, yes they are friends, but there are certain lines that they are not to cross. The Wonder Woman issues after the big event is also handled very well as she re-examines her friendships with Batman and Superman in light of the recent events and her actions. And last but not least, is the fight scene. Long have comic fan boys (including a younger version of myself) examined the situation if Superman fought Wonder Woman...what would happen? Well, Rucka and a plathora of artists answer the question...and answers it very well. Wonder Woman is no push over and in this book, we see the warrior side of her personlaity fleshed out. She even turns her much-maligned tiara into a deadly weapon.

The only problem I had was with Verheidan's portion of the writing which is basically two issues in the book. His ideas seem all over the place and needs to be tied down a bit more, for the sake of making the story flow a little better. While, Rucka insists on slow and methodical, sharacter-driven writing, Verheidan opts for action...too much of it at times. And that's the only downside.

This book is recommended for those following the Infinite Crisis events and also for those who wants a look at the darker DC universe.

About the Author
Dirk Liepold has been working with SAP products, experiencing the evolution of SAP, and supporting numerous European, U.S., and global SAP implementations since 1988. He is an SAP ERP HCM subject matter expert performing in such capacities as solution architect and project manager. Dirk began his career as an SAP developer and functional consultant at the German SAP consulting firm ABS-Team GmbH before joining PriceWaterhouseCoopers in the U.S. as a senior consultant and, later, director of the SAP HR Center of Excellence. He founded the SAP ERP HCM consulting firm RowSix, LLC before joining Kivala-HR as a senior executive to lead its North American SAP ERP HCM consulting practice.

Steve Ritter has worked with HR information systems for over 20 years and is currently a managing partner of Sage Consulting, LLC, an SAP software solutions and technology partner that provides business consulting services and add-on solutions for the HCM application. Since 1996, he has been exclusively engaged in numerous SAP ERP HCM projects, serving in both technical and functional leadership positions. Currently, his primary focus is assisting clients with the implementation of the latest SAP web-enabled technologies.

Ellen Eagle's book, "Pastel Painting Atelier" is the most complete, informative book on pastel painting I have seen. I am a pastelist, and have a collection of pastel books, and NONE compare in clarity of information, or quality of photography. I Have studied with several different pastel artists, the instruction in the book is like being in a pastel workshop. Delightful to read, and a beautiful book to add to my collection. I highly recommend it for beginners and experienced artists alike.

A wonderful book that is a pleasure to read. The author's sharing of her creative process and chapters on the step-by-step building of a pastel painting are invaluable. Suggestions about materials, how to evaluate a work in progress and how to correct mistakes are very helpful. The book illustrates vast expressive possibilities and quiet qualities of pastel, a medium that had its golden age more than two centuries ago but now is rather under-appreciated. It also highlights the art of looking at and truly seeing another person, without which portraiture is impossible. Those in search of bulleted supply lists and shortcuts to making fast and easy paintings may be disappointed. But if they slow down and read carefully through this book, they may discover something new to them. Es un libro que pondr� a ganadores del premio Nobel como Harry Markowitz, William Sharpe o Franco Modigliani a trabajar para su empresa. Lo ayudar� a formar criterios para enfrentar decisiones importantes, respondiendo por ejemplo: “por qu� al momento de endeudarse usted necesita un asesor impositivo”, “c�mo puede reducir gratis el riesgo de sus inversiones”, “de qu� forma puede analizar sus proyecciones con un software de simulaci�n, como Crystal Ball”. “Finanzas para emprendedores” es un libro centrado en las ideas de la libertad. Entiende al emprendedor como una persona creativa, perspicaz, din�mica, dispuesta a aprender de sus errores. Cree en la acci�n humana, siguiendo a von Mises, como fuerza que interviene en la creaci�n del futuro. Interpreta que econom�a no deber�a ser sin�nimo de matem�tica. En definitiva, la matem�tica es solamente una herramienta para entender la realidad, al igual que lo es la l�gica. Por eso presenta los modelos financieros en una forma intuitiva, aplicada y subordinada al an�lisis subjetivo del emprendedor. Toma muy en serio el prop�sito de acercarle la ciencia, y por eso emplea una diversidad de herramientas did�cticas que hoy permite la tecnolog�a: aplicaciones de Excel, videos con explicaciones paso a paso, contacto con emprendedores en redes sociales. Es teor�a, lista para usar.

About the Author
Florencia is the Director of the Finance Department at UFM's Business School, in Guatemala. She holds a Ph.D. degree in finance from Universidad del Cema, Argentina, and a Certificate in Management from M.I.T. Her research and teaching interests include entrepreneurial finance, investments' risk and value-based management. She is the author of "Finanzas para emprendedores" (2011), and currently teaches MBA courses at Swiss Management Center (Zurich), Online de Madrid Manuel Ayau (Spain) and Fundaci�n Libertad (Argentina).

Excelente libro para aprender finanzas, f�cil, fresco y amigable.

Excelente libro, orientado a la educaci�n financiera b�sica. Los conceptos son explicados de manera clara y proporcionan material adicional de apoyo tanto en hojas de calculo de Excel como en v�deos de Youtube a los que se puede accesar enviando el c�digo que se proporciona al final del libro. Tanto las hojas de calculo como los videos son explicados con calma y de manera clara y did�ctica.
Florencia es una financiera muy capacitada con muy buenas credenciales, pero lo mejor es que resulta evidente que naci� para ense�ar. Una financiera con la paciencia y habilidad para transmitir el conocimiento. Justo lo que necesitaba.
Despu�s de leer varios libros de finanzas y completar un diplomado en la materia, me encuentro con este libro.
Jamas me hab�an quedado tan claros de fondo los conceptos de las finanzas b�sicas.
Magnifica inversi�n.

La Dra. Roca realizo un gran esfuerzo en escribir este libro con un lenguaje sencillo, sin restar el alto nivel de los conceptos que menciona. La publicaci�n cuenta con una bater�a de ejercicios en Excel y videos que facilitan la comprensi�n de los temas. En mi opini�n, la publicaci�n es recomendable para ejecutivos, analista, profesores y estudiantes de la industria financiera, que quieran profundizar t�cnica-pr�ctica en Finanzas Corporativas. juansegoviamx@yahoo.com.mx

The PhD. Roca made ​​a great effort in this book, She written in simple language, explaining the high-level concepts. Finanzas para emprendedores es un libro con ilustraciones y ejemplos muy claros. Conoci de la existencia de este libro consultando los videos que tiene Florencia Roca en youtube y de verdad que quede impresionado de la facilidad con la que transmite sus conocimientos. Lo recomiendo.
